That's what I thought at first but then I got to thinking. I'm sure there are Katrina victims still suffering. They showed some on Idol Gives Back the other week.
Actually thousands of people are still living in trailers and it is almost two years later, and Adam like many have stopped being interested in the needs of these people....hopefully shows like this one can keep giving those suffering some hope.
I live in England so don't really care, if i'm going to give money to poor people it won't be to the poor people of the richest nation on earth. Can't your government do anything right?
I agree with you, I'm not pleased with our government either but that is a seperate issue from calling an event by individuals to help people in need "ridiculous". It seems odd to have such a negative reaction to a positive deed, I hope you are helping people somewhere.
My first post was meant to be a joke. I think its a good idea my point is that the USA government should have responded quicker to save lives. Katrina victims are not in mortal danger so the money would be better used to save lives in places like Darfur. All I know is if Katrina happened in the UK, France, Holland or Germany the victims would be housed and compensated long before now. I help quite alot of people and I also do charity gigs.
I'm not going to continue a debate on human suffering after this post. I think we are fundamentally in agreement. Darfur is horrifying and certainly compared to that people in trailers seem irrelevant, unless of course you are a victim of Katrina. I don't know that "rating" suffering is the solution. There are enough resources to make a difference in Darfur as well if people would only implement them.
$10 to see Sarah Silverman??? They Should at least do $20 bucks, people will pay it, i would. That way they can raise more money, for the Katrina Victims!
